Former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has written an open letter to president Muhammadu Buhari. According to Reno Omokri, borrowing $500 million for NTA is of no use. He added that NTA is not a profitable media, so borrowing such amount of money is stupidity.
Reno Omokri, tweeted via his twitter handle, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari should borrow sense from Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, just as South Africa borrowed sense from her.
Read his tweets below:
“Dear General @MBuhari
It is not a necessity. It can even be classified as a stupidity. How will the money be paid back, when NTA is not a profitable media? Please approach Ngozi Okonjo Iweala to borrow you the sense she is currently borrowing South Africa!
Dear General @MBuhari
How can you borrow $500 million to digitalise NTA? Do Nigerians even have electricity to watch NTA? It‘s like borrowing to buy shoes for a man without legs. Our priority is power, education and roads, not an NTA that no one even watches!
Will Nigeria collapse if we don’t borrow $500 million to digitalise @NTANewsNow
? How can you borrow such huge sums for non necessities like that? And these were people who condemned @GEJonathan
for building 165 almajiri schools. One school, they haven’t built”!
